Lakshita Ashwini Iyer graduated with a BA (hons) in Sociology from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University. She went on to do her post graduation in MA Women’s Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad.
During her masters, Lakshita engaged with research areas such as gender and education, micro-financing institutions, gendered occupational mobility, social media and feminism, and produced her master’s thesis in the broad area of gender and media.
Lakshita has previous experience in working with women’s organisations such as the National Commission for Women. After her master’s degree, Lakshita was selected as a Qualitative Researcher for a short-term research project loosely on Violence against Women in India, conducted by George Washington University, Washington DC.
Lakshita started her internship at the Centre for Social Research in September 2019.
She primarily engaged with the Gender, Water, and Climate Change department in the Development Division of the organisation. After the culmination of her internship in December 2019, she joined the CSR team as an Assistant Project Coordinator, continuing in the Gender, Water Climate Change department.
