Women suffering from domestic violence in Delhi and do not know what to do ? or where to Go? the information on infrastructures both governmental and non-governmental available in Delhi to help them seek redressal for justice. When in distress, what should you do?

  • Dial 100. Inform the police where exactly you are calling from and what your problem is.

  • If you have been raped, sexually harassed, physically abused or mentally tortured or teased you have the right to demand that your FIR be registered.

  • You have the right to take some friend or relative along with you at the time of filling of FIR.

  • You have the right to read the FIR, or have someone else read it to you before you sign it.

  • You also are entitled to a copy of the FIR free of cost.

  • You can also approach senior police officers or your area Magistrate if the police refuses to register your FIR.

  • You should file the FIR in concerned police station.

You must contact an Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) or Women Organisation .If you are suffering from a problem that has not been taken up by the police station directly then you can approach any of the NGO's working for women in distress.
