Internships
International:
Since 2000 the Centre for
Social Research (CSR) has opened its doors to
international interns. Subsequently nearly 20 interns from all
over the world have interacted with staff
from different departments and found their niche
in CSR. Our Interns are from countries like
USA, UK, Denmark, Canada, Finland, New Zealand,
England, The Netherlands,
Russia, and Germany. to name a few. CSR
frequently has two to three interns from different
countries, which not only helps to give support in
multicultural interaction but also provides both
the interns and the staff with a
broader perspective on issues affecting the
lives of people from different parts of the
world.
National:
CSR is always delighted to
welcome interns from its own country India, to
give young people the opportunity to participate
and learn from real situations.
Work
to be undertaken: Interns
can work in any of our departments, and engage
in the work which we do in the following areas:
In addition, CSR provides the
interns a chance to come up with his/her own
idea or area of study interest and work on it
while being with the organisation. This can be
related to subjects like marketing, public
relations and IT.
All
interns are required to speak fluent English,
but if one decides to work for the development
department it would be an added advantage if
he/she has working knowledge of Hindi.
Desirable
Attributes: It is important that the intern is interested in
the work that CSR does and would not only learn
from the organization but would also be able to
provide adequate support to the organisation in
the form of documentation, new ideas, and the
ability to work independently on tasks that may come up during their tenure
with the organisation.
Duration:
The
duration of an internship can be from one month
to a year but this depends on the interest of
the intern, the nature of the job and the
vacancy in the organisation.
The
interns at CSR are mostly students, who come to
work here as part of their education. However,
the
organisation welcomes those who have
graduated from university and are interested in
the issues which we work on, or just wish to help the
organisation with their skills and knowledge.
How
to Apply: At
present, there are two ways to apply for an
internship at CSR. Firstly, one can contact
the worldwide working student organisation -
AIESEC in one's own home country or secondly,
apply directly to the organisation. The Centre
for social Research is strongly interested in
giving more interns the possibility of working
for the organisation, because it believes in
a better development of the organisation through
a multicultural exchange. To see the CSR interns
