CSR is actively engaged in putting gender on the agenda: whether it is through lobbying for the 33% Reservation of Seats for Women in Parliament Bill, sharing knowledge in seminars,
networking with national, regional and international partners, providing gender sensitization
training to NGOs and local government institutions, changing public opinion through
campaigning, or grass-roots empowerment projects which spread awareness in the local communities
CSR provides a platform to the marginalized to raise a collective voice at different forums. CSR
has helped in translating the experiences of the grassroots level into policies through
conferences, dialogues and interactive sessions. We believe that raising awareness on the
situation of women in India is the first step in restructuring gender relations. To reach a gender-
equitable society, an attitude change of all parties involved is needed: the government, service
providers, and, most importantly, the men and women of India.
Advocacy is an integral part of all of CSR's activities. Rather than being separate goal, it is
central to each of our endeavors. Every project we undertake contains an element of advocacy:
whether knowledge-sharing workshops, policy recommendations or political lobbying.
