The crisis intervention centre is an integral part of Centre for Social Research. The main objective of CICs is to make women self reliant through the various vocational training programmes running in every center. The crisis intervention centre is committed towards the capacity building of women in order to make them more aware about their rights and increase their awareness on the position of women in India. One of the main functions and objectives of CICs is to create a network between the communities, law enforcing agencies and the government which is possible through redressal system mechanisms which help in combating violence against women.
 
CIC has carried out several projects in the past. To name a few the genders sensitization programme has been one of the most well attended programmes and is still being carried out. A total number of 1956 people participated who came from different organizations such as: crime against women cell, chief district medical officers. Another project which is currently under operation is known as “Promotion of Women’s Rights through Networking, lobbying, Advocacy and Capacity Building” which is supported by ICCO Crisis Intervention Center.
 
The activities operating at the CIC occur at 3 basic levels and sub-levels.
