Sunday , February 27, 2005 Women’s alliance to lobby on policy issues New Delhi, February 26: To monitor and influence policy measures in Parliament, a national-level organisation, ‘Women Power Connect’ (WPC) was launched in the Capital on Friday. Nearly 300 women activists gathered for the launch of WPC, aimed at fructification of the Women’s Reservation Bill, Domestic Violence Prevention Bill and Gender-Just Budgeting. ‘‘We have concluded that there is a strong need to mount an organised campaign to raise women’s voices in the Parliament,’’ said Dr Ranjana Kumari, president of WPC. CM Sheila Dikshit lauded the efforts of the women activists. |
