The book uses the cases of Indian Textiles and food processing industries to access the position of women workers in the globalised economy. The study examines how the structure, trade balance and performance of the industries in question, influence the employment situation in those sectors. Women workers position is assessed in terms of their social status, occupational profiles and wage levels. The chapter concludes with the respective recommendations on how to use the impact of globalisation to the positive changes in the women's employment.
